Purchasing Biologics & Specialized Medications
Some patients are referred to our clinic by their treating specialists overseas to obtain biologic or advanced prescription medications in Malaysia.
These patients are already under specialist care in their home country.
In some situations:
- The medication is unavailable locally
- Supply is limited
- Costs are significantly higher
When this occurs, the treating doctor may contact us directly to coordinate access.
Our clinic is located within the MOB Specialist Building at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur.
We understand that arranging medication across borders can feel uncertain. Our role is to keep the process clear, structured, and predictable.
Physician-Directed Coordination Only
This pathway is strictly for patients whose treating doctors have already communicated with us and provided medical documentation.
We do not initiate new treatments or replace your primary specialist.
Before any travel is arranged, we require:
- Diagnosis and medical summary
- Medication name and dosage
- Treatment duration
Travel should only be planned after documentation review and stock confirmation.

Specialized Oral Medications

How the Process Works

Your specialist sends the necessary documentation.
We review and confirm whether the medication is available.
No flights or travel arrangements should be made at this stage.
2️⃣ Pricing & Payment Confirmation
To avoid problems upon arrival, payment arrangements are clarified early.
We have seen overseas credit cards declined due to:
- Transaction limits
- International authorisation blocks
Addressing this in advance prevents unnecessary disruption.
Once stock is confirmed:
- Pricing is communicated
- Payment method is verified
Payment options include:
- Cash (MYR)
- Credit card
- Pre-arranged QR payment
Payment is processed only after confirmed stock availability.
Once completed, your medication is reserved for collection.

We require:
- Full name (as per passport)
- Passport number
- Contact details

4️⃣Travel & Collection
Travel should only be finalised after:
- Documentation approval
- Stock confirmation
- Payment arrangement
This ensures your medication is ready upon arrival.
5️⃣Travel Support
For temperature-sensitive biologics, we provide:
- Customs letter
- Supporting documentation
- Cooling bag and ice packs
Biologics should be transported in cabin luggage.
Patients remain responsible for compliance with their home country’s import regulations.
This Service Is Not Suitable If:
- You do not have an existing specialist diagnosis
- Your doctor has not contacted us
- You are seeking new treatment initiation
- You are attempting to obtain medication without supervision

- Enter the MOB, take the elevator to the 3rd floor, and you’ll find us at Suite 303.
Parking & arrival tips:
- There is hospital parking available — allow extra time during peak hours.
- If you use a ride-share/taxi (Grab), tell the driver to drop you at the MOB Specialist Building (Located opposite Emergency Department) for the easiest access.
- The MOB is wheelchair accessible; elevators go to all clinic floors.
